Jasmine Kim is a technical writer/UX writer, developing guides for SDK and API docs and creating UI texts.

I’ve held a variety of professional writing positions in journalism and tech, where I developed a strong foundation for various writing styles across mixed media. API & UIKit docs for Notifications

2/2023 – 3/2023

Notifications is a product that Sendbird released earlier this year. I was asked to join a team of 12 back-end engineers, front-end engineers and designers to build and document this product within 4 weeks. There were two parts to this project: documentation and UI texts. Read more about the docs side of the project here.

UIKit content reorg

1/2022 – 4/2022

Chat UIKit is a product at Sendbird that’s made up of prebuilt UI components that customers can use to implement chat services to their app. The project I was assigned to was called version 3 modularization. Starting from v3.0, the product was going to allow for more detailed customization by breaking down UI views into smaller UI components.

There were two parts to this project: reorganizing the entire structure of the existing docs for UIKit and adding new v3.0 content to the existing docs. Read more about the project here.

UI texts for Notifications dashboard

2/2023 – 8/2023

Since the Notifications product was targeting both non-engineers and engineers, technical documentation as well as user-friendly UI texts were needed. On the UX writing side of Notifications, I worked on all UI texts on the Sendbird Dashboard and continued improving and adding more content to the first iteration up until August 2023 after the initial release in March. Journalism

2018–2020

After finishing my undergrad, I worked in journalism for two years as a reporter, video producer, and production assistant. Over the course of my time in digital media, I’ve worked at Business Insider, CBS, and CNBC. You can find my most recent byline here.

Localization of UI texts

2020 - present

Sendbird Desk is a customer support product that provides live chat between customers and agents. Users can monitor and analyze tickets and agents through performance reports, real-time statistics, and assignment logs on the dashboard. The dashboard has always been written in English for all customers. However, there was a request from Woowa Brothers, a Korean mobile food delivery platform, to provide the dashboard in Korean. Since Woowa Brothers became our customer in 2020, my team and I have been updating and working on both Korean and English UI texts for all new features. Read more about the project here.

I’ve published a wide variety of written materials in my career so far, which shows versatility from my experience creating content for different types of audience.

As a writer, I hope to continue to create user-friendly guides and expand my interests in helping others transform technical concepts into accessible resources.
